13. Dezember 2024 – Archimedes-Meeting of B1, B2 with international scientists
On December 13, an Archimedes meeting took place in Erlangen at the Institute of Advanced Optical Technologies – Thermophysical Properties of Prof. Fröba, subproject leader B3, where, from left, Prof. Markus Richter (TU Chemnitz, subproject leader B1), Dr. Mark McLinden (National Institute of Standards and Technology, Boulder/Colarado, Archimedes Mercator Fellow), Prof. Andreas P. Fröba (FAU Erlangen, sub-project leader B3), Prof. Ioannis Economou (Texas A&M University at Qatar, Guest Professor at FAU Erlangen, associated with Archimedes research unit), Dr. Michael Rausch, Dr. Tobias Klein (both FAU Erlangen, sub-project B3), Prof. Martin Trusler (Imperial Collage London, visiting scientist Archimedes at FAU Erlangen), and Prof. Paul Stanwix (University of Western Australia, visiting scientist Archimedes at TU Chemnitz) for the scientific exchange.

The ECRs met to discuss their current results and the publication strategy. They also attended a workshop on TREND – many thanks to Andreas Jäger (sub-project B2) for this.

International Conference on Screw Machines 2024, Dortmund, Germany
Lasse Burchardt and Andreas Brümmer (both Sub-Project A1), Heinrich Lange and Jochen Kriegseis (both Sub-Project A2) and Julian Vorspohl (A3) represented results of the Archimedes Research Unit in a separate Archimedes session. Markus Richter (Sub-Project B1) gave a keynote presentation.

Lasse Burchardt and Andreas Brümmer (both sub-project A1), together with Matthias Heselman (another colleague from TU Dortmund University), represented the results of the Archimedes Research Center.
And they won the Best Paper Award with their contribution „Consideration Of Oil Interaction On The Operating Behaviour Of Twin-Screw Compressors Using Chamber Model Simulations“
